Future Site Of...

Ta-Da! (click image to see it larger)

What is so special about a bunch of dirt and sticker bushes? Well, they happen to be the future site of our new home!

After 5 years at our current house we know exactly what we want, in fact we found a house (we looked around before deciding to build) that was perfect -- but just had too small of a yard. So we are building that same floorplan on a bigger lot! At least that big decision is out of the way!

We hope to create a wonderful new home for Syd to grow up in. Stay tuned for updates and please pray that things go smoothly and that Danny and I don't kill each other (we hear that is a risk when building a home).

Sigma Beta Ranch Get-Together

Danny, Sydney and I had great time reconnecting (or in Syd's case meeting) with college friends for our annual winter get-together (we also meet once a summer). Our group has grown so much, by marriage and births, over the last couple years that we had to rent a lodge! :-) We went to Cranhill Ranch near Big Rapids, MI. And other than the long drive it was the perfect location - lots of rooms and some of the ladies(including me) even went horseback riding!

After a full weekend of games (board games as well as Dance Dance Revolution and ATV Hockey) I am exhausted!

Sydney did okay, but wasn't always her usual perky self. But from the below image your can tell we weren't the only parents of a young baby there (although Syd is the youngest by a mere month).

I feel sorry for the non-parent couples there because a lot of parenting/baby talk was going on. The poor things know more than they EVER wanted to know before becoming parents! :-)

Thanks again to everyone for a cool weekend! See you next time!

Rollin' LIVE

Sydney is rolling over more often now! Click on this link to go to YouTube and see a small video of Sydney in action she learned to put her head to work for her! (with gravity's help). Stayed tuned for updates -- someday she will actualy roll from her back to her front too! :-) Such tiny, yet special accomplishments.

Sydney is also playing! Reaching for things and showing real interest!

Bye bye for now!

Roliin' Rollin' Rollin'

Our little 2.5 month old genius! haha

On December 30th Sydney rolled over! Okay specifically she rolled from her tummy to her back 2 times (a different direction each time). The weight of her head helped the flip...and she didn't seem surprised at all. I (Jamie) missed the first one. But that is okay, there are many other firsts to come! I am amazed at how proud I am of something so simple!

She hasn't made a habit of rolling over yet, but loves to twist on her side to look at things. And she has started to bat at toys a little. She is becoming a very wiggly baby, in fact the other morning I went to get her out of her crib and her feet were sticking through the crib bars! Silly little girl!

Water Damage in NC

Many of you know that Danny's parents have a cabin down in North Carolina. Well, Danny's dad went down after Christmas to close up the cabin for the winter and found out that the furance had broken....causing pipes to freeze...let's just say they are VERY grateful for homeowner's insurance. It was "raining" in the garage and there was standing water throughout the first floor. A restoration company is there now. What a mess! Please pray that the repairs go well and that insurance covers it all!!

What's left of the garage ceiling.

What used to be the carpeted dining area with blowers drying it out (will take a couple weeks to dry out).

Sydney's 1st Christmas and new K9 in da House!

Sydney says Happy New Year and thanks again for the big welcome and cool Christmas she had last year! Sydney was great for all her Christmas get-togethers only fussing a little bit. Of course there were plenty of people to hold her and carry her around -- which she loves!

She recieved many nice gifts but two particularly special ones were her box of love(a pretty wooden box with her named carved in it, filled to the tippy top with shredded paper with the word LOVE on it!) and her new dog...

Okay before everyone freaks out (particularly you dog club people!) her new dog (Max as we've dubbed him) isn't exactly alive, but he does bear a STRONG resemblance to someone else in the house...
