Olympic Marshmallow Training

With the Olympics in full swing the Eggleston's have decided to start training. We aren't sure what sport we are going to put the kids in, but we have decided how we are going to train... Marshmallows. (Blame all Marshmallow misspellings on Dad Egg).

Watch and see for yourself.

We do promise that her toe was okay!

If only it was always this easy to get them to burn off energy.

Be sure to watch Riker in this video as well. :-)

Here is the trainer and his two trainees on a break. Isn't it amazing how little it takes to entertain us! :-)

Pupsicle 2010

We can't believe that it has been a year since the first Pupsicle. The first competition had such a good turnout and that we decided to do it for a second year. Yesterday was the big day. We had a little bit of a weather scare with the snow storm that came through Indy and Cincinnati. Most of my volunteers and all the equipment was coming from those 2 locations. In the end, all of the equipment made it, and only 3 people were unable to make it because of weather!

Friday night Danny, his dad, his father-in-law, Rick (from the IDDC club) and Alice and Don Lang (from the IDDC club), headed to event site and set everything up. Transforming Planet Canine from a dog training facility into a Disc Dog venue.

The place is very quiet WITHOUT all the dogs.

Saturday was an awesome day for Pupsicle. The weather outside was a bitter cold yet clear and inside it was cozy warm. We had many human competitors and even more dogs competing!

I wonder what color shirts we used this year?

We even had a concessions and raffle area that Jamie and her mom ran. They sold Pizza, Pop, Raffle tickets, and Shirts during the whole event. People were very grateful for the food being available so that they did not have to venture out in the middle of the day. We ended up needing get even more pizza than last year!

If you couldn't guess Innova was a sponsor. So was the GonnaBark! store (that's the owner Bill to the left!)

There was the junior division again this year. There were only 2 juniors that entered, Sydney and Riker. Here is a video of Riker's first Disc Dog competition round ever.

Daddy was only a little worried about getting hit in the face.

When it came time for awards of course Sydney and Riker took first and second,

Doesn't Daddy look happy!!

The bragging rights for who won goes to RIKER!!! He smoked Sydney 2 to 0!

Doesn't he look happy!!

We had many spectators and competitors. Danny decided to run around and try to get some of them to say hi about half way through the day.

Normally people do family pictures when everyone is in matching clothes, so today seemed like the perfect day to try and get a family portrait. We think it turned out great.

Just call us the Blue Man Group!

At the end of the day while awards were being tallied, the real heart and love of the sport came out. We asked for volunteers to help try and get the tape off the floor... I think that EVERYONE came out.

Funny to see all those butts in the air.

Lastly Channel 16 WNDU news came out and did a story on the competition. Here is a link to the story.
