Riker's Dedication

Today at church was Rikers dedication. They day started a bit rough. We weren't sure if the dedication was going to happen or not. We had 10 new inches of snow on the ground, and it was actively snowing. Luckily it was pretty much all localized and the out of town people were able to make it in.

The dedication went great. Riker was a bit funny he didn't want to have the cross made on his forehead, he kept turning away from the minister. It was great to be there with Riker (and Sydney a couple of years ago), when they were both dedicated. It really reminds you of how blessed you are -- and what a miracle it is to have these children ... to be a family.

After the service we headed back to the house for a small party. We had 32 people at the house, at most was 29 people at one time. That was a lot of people in our house! Here is a couple of pictures showing some of the people in the living room.

Luckily we also had the basement where the kids spent most of the time playing. Sydney had a lot of fun playing with Claire Reichenbach they look like they are racing here!

Riker received a couple of dedication gifts, and it was great to see how excited he was to receive them -- because at first he only seemed interested in the bows...but look at him grin at his new cross!

Sydney also had a good time, probably thought it was a party for her! She seemed to be enjoying making funny faces at the camera.

We had a great day and are so thankful to God for our kids and all our loved ones -- we are so blessed!

It was very fun to come down and see you guys. Several times during the trip Kristin looked at me and mouthed 'We are gonna die'. The trip home was much smoother since the roads were clearer.

Sydney looks so cute when she makes faces at the camera. For some reason yesterday she decided to turn me into her personal mountain while we were there. It was still a lot of fun.

Love you guys,
Katie
