New Pic! And updates...

Aren't they cute? Yes the dogs are interested in Sydney, especially Frodo, but they have been pretty good with her. We have only allowed them a couple tiny kisses. Frodo likes to stick close by to Sydney and if she cries in her crib he comes running to get us. He always looks at us with an expression that says "Help her!!!" He is our extra baby monitor!

Sydney reached her first tiny milestone, her umblical cord fell off -- now she has a cute little belly button!

Danny has the day off work today to go to Chicago with Bill Camp (the disc dog performer who tok Danny to the Colts and Steelers games) to try out for the NBC TV show "America's Got Talent". I will update you after they get back!

Team Eggstreme Update and Tour of Sydney's Room

This last weekend Danny won first place at a freestyle qualifier. Which qualified him and Guinan for the USDDN Nationals and won them the Ohio State Champ title in Freestyle. They are having a good year! Between dog frisbee and having Sydney things are going amazing -- I asked Danny what it felt like to meet so many personal goals in one year! :-)

Check out www.usddn.com for more info on this organization.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have had several people ask what Sydney's room looks like. Here are a couple pictures. You may notice a bit of a dog theme. :-) And yes I made the paintings myself!
Notice the pawprint on trash can, paw print blanket, bone rug, dog paintings, stuffed Border Collie and Jack Russell and various doggie toys!
Quick SYDNEY UPDATE
Our sweet Sydney will be 1 week old later today! What a week. She is doing well and being failry nice to her parents (giving an occasional 3 hour stretch of sleep!). She amuses us with her many facial expresions and noises... so cute. what a birthday gift for Danny (yep, Sydney was born on her Daddy's birthday!)!
I still can't mentally connect the fact that a week ago she was still in me! It was a bit surreal when they let us leave the hospital with her!! :-)
Many thanks for all the well wishes and goodies from everyone. We truly appreciate it and are pretty excited ourselves!
The "Egg" has hatched!!!!!
After a long time day of labor our new member of the family entered the world. At 8:44 pm had a baby baby Girl, Sydney Taylor Eggleston. She weighted in at 7lbs 12 Oz. Her length was 20 3/4 inches.
I figured this photo would please our extended family (Ultimate and Disc Dog).
Sydney is going to be so ready to throw a forehand by age 2.
The first night went pretty good. She stayed in the nursery the first night, so we only saw Sydney for about a half hour when she was in for a feeding (well Danny didn't even wake up).
Today my parents came up for the day. My dad Jim got a nice photo of the family.
Progress! Guess where we are?
Hello everyone, this is Jamie writing from our birthing suite at the hospital. Yes my technically savvy husband was able to get us an internet connection. Last night we came in at 6 PM, and they started the process of induction. Which by this morning had gotten us up to 3 centimeters (came in at 1 centimeter).
We spent the evening watching movies, and they gave me something to sleep, unfortunatly Danny didn't get one.
They moved us to the birthing suite and started Pitocin, to try and get me into labor. This means that we must have the baby on the monitor at all times, and this is not a cooperative baby.
The nurse keeps having to come in and readjust the monitors every time the baby moves (every 5 or so minutes or less). In fact the baby already had a BAD reputation before we even switched to rooms into the birthing suite.
Feeling ok, but starting to feel worse, which is a good thing.
Still here . . . still pregnant
I know you were starting to wonder if we forgot to update about the baby right???
We wish! We are about 1 week overdue and getting VERY impatient! We have been walking tons but the only effect that had was that I lost a pound this week. Oh well!
At the doctor's office today they monitored the baby and all is going very well, and it is a very active little baby! The final verdit is that unless the baby gets a move on, we may have to be induced.
So pray for the baby to want to meet the world NOW not later! :-)
South Bend Tribune Article!
Yep, thanks to Team Eggstreme the Egglestons made the paper again! Here is the article:
    She'll take her treats over a trophy!
    By BILL MOOR
    As far as Guinan is concerned, the Skyhoundz World Championship disc dog trophy might as well be a fire hydrant.
    The 2 1/2-year-old border collie can't grasp it with her paws or grasp its meaning, either.
    "But she does know she has accomplished something -- partly because of all the treats and love she has gotten," says Guinan's owner, Danny Eggleston of Osceola.
    At the Worlds in Atlanta two weekends ago, Guinan showed off all her tricks to get her treats.
    Oh, Danny helped, too.
    Their teamwork proved better than the other 23 entries from around the country to take home the Open Division championship title.
    "We had an awesome third (and final) round with only about three drops in 45 throws," Danny says. That catapulted them to the top.
    World champions from Osceola, Ind.
    They were also entered in two other divisions but had to drop out when Guinan came up limping.
    "It apparently is an impact strain in one of her tendons and so we're just resting her for a while now," says Danny, who works at Manhattan Associates in Mishawaka.
    Guinan certainly deserves her doggie bed fluffed up.
    The new champs didn't get much of a chance to celebrate their victory down in Atlanta. "In fact, we jumped in the car with my dad after the Sunday competition and drove straight home."
    They pulled into the driveway about 4:30 a.m. Monday.
    Danny's wife, Jamie, almost nine months pregnant, was happy to see them.
    "I could stop being paranoid," she says.
    Danny wasn't about to miss the birth of their first child, though.
    "I had every flight out of Atlanta (and to Chicago or South Bend) memorized," he says.
    But it ended up that Guinan did the flying.
    "Out of the 24 competitors (who qualified at regional competitions), we were the 24th to compete," Danny says.
    That was nerve-wracking -- with everyone showing their stuff before them.
    After the first of three rounds, he and Guinan were fifth. After the second round, they were third. And then they finished with a flourish to win the title.
    Danny's dad, Jim, would call Jamie on his cell phone and let her listen when Danny and Guinan were competing.
    Of course, it was Danny doing the barking, with Guinan feeding off his enthusiasm.
    She didn't even know she was limping at the end. Danny wisely dropped them out of the freestyle pairs and distance and accuracy events, and Guinan should be back in action in a few weeks.
    "Actually, I really didn't think we would get a chance to compete in any event, that the baby would come before our trip," Danny admits.
    He and Jamie are still waiting to become proud parents. They already are poochie-proud.
    Danny and Guinan have already been contacted about endorsing some dog food products, and dog disc legend Bill Camp of Niles has invited them to join him for a halftime performance at an upcoming Indianapolis Colts game.
    Heady stuff.
    So what had Guinan gotten out of all this?
    "A lot of treats and more chances to catch Frisbees," Danny says. "That's what she lives for."
    A simple dog's life. A championship formula.
