Disc Dog Tree

With building a new house we had more room in our house for a themed tree in our entry way. The idea was proposed by Jamie(ME!) to make it a disc dog tree. We figured it was a great way to actually use all of the disc dog stuff! So that is exactly what we did.

We are wondering if this maybe a one of a kind tree anywhere in the world?!

The tree skirt is pieces of different t-shirts:

The star is 2 Pup Jawz taped back to back (with a little garland around it for "bling")

The garland is made from all the ribbons that held the awards:

The ornaments are an assortment of awards that Guinan and Danny have earned at different competitions (some with nice little paw-print bows I added!). Don't they make cool ornaments!?:

IDDC Event Award

Skyhoundz placement Award

USDDN Qualifier Medal

IDDHA placement Award

SOF K-9 Award

UFO placement awards

Figure we can't have a disc dog tree without showing the dog who earned the awards on the tree.

Hope you have enjoyed the tour of our Disc Dog Tree we are really proud of it!

Here We Grow Again!

This year has been a year of change in the Eggleston household. First a new house and then a new puppy and NOW........

Yep you got it! We are going to have another little Egg. Hopefully this little one is good to Sydney and hopefully Sydney reciprocates.

We have had a great time telling people so far. We were very inventive. At Sydney's birthday party at Chick-Fil-A, Danny told everyone that Sydney had one more gift from mom and dad, but that mom knew nothing about it(but of course I did), and all they had to do was unscramble the letters to figure it out. Here is a video watching the grandparents finishing the puzzle.

Yes, the phrase does say: "I am a big Sister in June", but the due date is actually in May. Our due date was moved up when they did an ultrasound. We were expecting to see 2 pixels blinking (a teeny tiny heartbeat) and instead we saw a baby moving! The doctor promptly moved the due date up to May 26th.

The rest of the family (the ones who were here anyway!) were told on Thanksgiving when we played Ultimate Outburst. There is a section of the game where you are given the 10 answers and must come up with the category. The clues we gave one at a time were: May, Sister, Rattle, Big, Sydney, Sibling... and a few more, it took them a while to get, but in the end they thought it was great!

We will keep you posted!

Thanksgiving 2007

Another sucessful Thanksgiving at the Eggleston's. We had a great time this year. New location, more dogs, more people, but still just as much fun.

We figured that we would take a new approach to telling everyone what happened. Everyone had there own role. Below is a list of everyone who attended and what their role was in the glorious holiday.

This year the crew included:

Danny - The CARVER

Jamie - The COOKER

Sydney - The PLAYER

Guinan - The Great FRISBEE FLYER

Frodo - The SCAVENGER

Potter - The FIGHTER

Grandpa Jim (take one - Eggleston) - The SLEEPER

???????
Grandpa Jim (take two - Fritz) - The CAMERA MAN
- Which of course means NO picture of him!

Grandma Kathy - The CHILI COOK

Grandma Robin - The LOVER

Great Grandma Esther - The DOG LOVER

Uncle Trever - The BABY SITTER (literally)

Uncle Ben - The AD MAN
and
Anita - The AD MAN's GIRLFRIEND

Great Uncle Gary - The GAMER

Baby/Puppy Playtime!

It is Sunday night and Sydney and the dogs seemed to be in great moods, especially Potter. So I (Danny) took out the camera and snapped some shots of some happy tired pups with Sydney.

Potter was being so nice to Sydney. She was trying to play with him, pick him up, lay on him, push him. And he pretty much just laid there.

Then about 20 minutes later Sydney went back for a second round with Potter. This time we were ready with a quick video.

Frodo decided to take a sophisticated older dog approach and just watch from a distance.

And then since the dogs were being so good I thought it was a good day for a Pack shot. So here is the Eggleston Dog Pack.

Trick or treat!

"Moo!" (Instead of "Boo!")

We only took Syd to two houses, don't worry we are not those people who take a baby/toddler around to get candy for themselves (although it seems like a nice idea!).

We stopped at one of Danny's volleyball teammates house:

And at Grandma and Grandpa Eggleston's. Where Grandpa takes Halloween very seriously:

Sydney did pretty good-- only cried a bit at the first house. She had lots of fun at Grandma and Grandpa's emptying and repacking a box. And playing in packing peanuts:

Shes so easy to entertain at this age! :-)
