Kids Start Building Projects

This weekend the kids started their own building projects. Two Saturdays a month Lowe's does a free Saturday morning project with kids. This Saturday was Sydney and Riker's first time going and the kids were thrilled to do this (Daddy was too!). Grandpa went with Daddy so that there was one adult per kid. Riker immediately got into the project, loving the hammer (or "Bammy" as he sometimes calls it!)...

Not to be out-done Sydney was really into hammering too!

As you can tell by the following video Riker is still a little small (but was having a blast anyway), but Sydney is just the right size to be doing the projects (even though they are technically for older kids :-) we are so proud.

The kids (Grandpa and Daddy) had a great time helping the real builders get their jobs done. As you can tell by there huge (and possibly disturbing) grins, both kids had a awesome time.

And of course both the kids had to give a recap of what they did.

Trick or Treat

Each Halloween is a little more more fun than the previous one as the kids are getting older. This year both kids were really into it. Sydney LOVED her costume. She got to be Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty).

Riker on the other hand picked a very boy outfit and went as a dinosaur, and was very pleased with himself.

The two kids loved getting dressed up and really got into character.

The kids has an awesome time going Trick or Treating, but they did not do it in the traditional method. They did most of the trick or treating at the mall. They went from store to store getting candy. We didn't know they were actually doing something at the mall like this, so we had brought candy to give to the clerks to give to the kids (which we didn't end up needing). The kids (and mom and dad) just LOVED it.

After getting back home from the mall we did a little trick or treating in the subdivision (only a few houses to hit there) and the kids wanted to travel in style.

But Riker had to do a little walking outside otherwise it isn't really trick-or-treating.

And no Halloween is complete without a pumpkin that is carved by mom and the kids. The kids weren't really into the guts -- so they mainly scooped a few seeds.

And this picture just shows how serious our kids are. ;-)

Hope everyone had a great Halloween like we did -- always fun to giggle at our little monsters!

P.S. Riker says "RAAAWWRRRR!"
